Aster Gardens - Press Release
TV Celebrity, Ahmed Hassan, Gives to Humanity Straight from His HeartOnline PR News – 06-November-2015 – Escondido, CA – Ahmed Hassan is filled with passion to assist others and is the driving force behind his latest charitable project taking place on November 21st and 22nd.
Hassan is fully dedicated to the empowerment of people in general and this project, his third of the year, will provide a serene outdoor space for those trying to better themselves. Having a safe haven while rebuilding their lives from the ground up is an invaluable element in the healing process. Hassan’s team of “Sustainable Heroes” from around the country join him in providing a hand up, not a hand out to those less fortunate than themselves.
As the former host of DIY Network’s “Yard Crashers,” Hassan has become a household name in transforming run down or dilapidated backyards into luxurious outdoor spaces. He, along with his team, have taken landscaping to an entirely different level where people truly appreciate the sense of creativity, potential and endless possibilities of a blank environmental canvas.
Life hasn’t always been kind to him, in fact he was homeless at one time himself so he realizes the great importance of giving back to those that are now where he once was. He also recognizes that it takes a team of extraordinary dynamic people to assist daily in helping these projects come to fruition. He is blessed with the daily assistance of Outdoor Living Designer, Duane Draughon of VizX Design Studios and Vacation Travel Advisor, Beverly Gallant of TraveLink American Express as well as a wealth of other valuable contributors from around the country who repeatedly step up each and every day to help the effort.
Within the last year he has teamed up with several non-profit organizations to create beautiful outdoor spaces. In Florida, he partnered with Daniella’s Wish to develop a safe outdoor play area for a little girl diagnosed with cancer. In New Jersey, the team built an organic, edible garden area at a public school which serves low-income students.
Creating an outdoor living space in conjunction with Interfaith Community Services of Escondido, CA is a special project in many ways; including the fact that it was Ahmed’s childhood friend that brought the need to his attention.
The land to be transformed is part of Interfaith Community Services’ Housing Program, which provides housing support for over 400 individuals each year, including homeless parents and children, as well as seniors, adults with disabilities and veterans. The Aster Gardens Charitable Project will only add to the wonderful work this organization is already doing for Escondido’s most vulnerable community members.
Founded in 1979, Interfaith Community Services’ mission is to empower people in need to stabilize and improve their lives through comprehensive programs in partnership with diverse faith communities and people of compassion. The organization provides a wide range of programs designed to empower hungry, homeless and low-income community members to begin a pathway toward self-sufficiency. Each year, Interfaith Community Services serves more than 16,000 community members by providing basic needs and nutrition support, social services, shelters and housing, employment development, youth programs, seniors services, veterans programs and addiction recovery support.
A host of volunteers, community and corporate partners will join together to create an amazing outdoor landscape/foodscape and congregating space for the parents, children, families, veterans and countless others served by Interfaith.
Won’t you join us at Aster Gardens in Escondido on November 21st & 22nd to help the effort?

Bullock Gardens - Press Release
Glassboro's Dorothy L. Bullock School has a brand new garden!GLASSBORO – Dorothy L. Bullock School's new garden grew from an idea, a tiny seed, planted in teacher Sonya Harris' imagination and blossomed with the help of other teachers, administrators, celebrity gardener Ahmed Hassan, Mike Pasquarello with Elite Landscaping, Barnes and Noble, the NJ Agricultural Society, N.J. Secretary of Agriculture Doug Fisher, Jersey Fresh and the NJ Department of Agriculture.
The big, kickoff came with an assembly on May 1. The Garden Build took place over the weekend of May 2–3. On May 4, the garden was revealed to students. A group from the N.J. Agricultural Society trained teachers on May 6 and provided free curriculum on how to incorporate garden lessons across the curriculum.
Since that time, Bullock students and teachers have taken time to interact in this outdoor classroom space by reading in it, conducting writing lessons in it, and even hosting a Mother's Day tea in it.
Harris elaborates, "Our kitchen chef, Mr. Simon, has harvested from the garden to begin cooking dishes, using our fresh produce. We have partnered with the N.J. Department of Agriculture's Jersey Fresh program, to raise and serve Jersey Fresh produce in our cafeteria, and will be creating a STEAM Lab/Garden Observation Classroom this summer, as an interactive, instructional learning hub. A Bullock Children's Garden web page has been created on the Glassboro Schools website, and can be found under 'Site Shortcuts' or on the Bullock website, also under the 'Our School' heading."

Daniella's Wish - Press Release
Ahmed Hassan, Co-Creator of DIY Networks' Yard Crashers, Helps Make a Wish Come TrueHelp us build precious Daniella, battling Stage III cancer, a germ free, safe & fun backyard playground with the help of Ahmed Hassan, Celebrity Landscaper
Feb. 25, 2015 - PRLog -- Daniella Collazo is a precious 2 year old girl from Miami Springs, Florida. She was diagnosed with Stage III Neuroblastoma on May 30, 2014, a very aggressive form of Childhood Cancer. Daniella has completed 7 cycles of chemotherapy and multiple surgeries this year. She was recently discharged after undergoing ultra-high dose chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant protocol.
Due to her immunocompromised condition, Daniella must avoid public places, including public playgrounds for up to a year.
Silvia Vanni, founder of http://www.mysticforcefoundation.com, recently contacted Celebrity Landscaper, Ahmed Hassan (host/co-creator of DIY Network’s Yard Crashers) with a request that he build Daniella a backyard playground oasis that is free from the germs of the general public, where she is safe, and where she and her brother can have fun and enjoy being kids.
Hassan recently shared on his Facebook page, “Silvia’s request pierced my steel facade," he continues “Daniella is two years old. She cannot do for this for herself, so I'll do it for her. I'm not trying to save the world. I've just got to create an outdoor space so that she can play outside like a two year old little girl should be able to do. Today is day two of sitting and writing with tears running down my face. I know what it feels like to be afraid, helpless and overwhelmed. I also know what it feels like to be strong for others and yourself, while standing up for positive change in the world.”
The celebrity has opened up his heart and is diligently moving forward to make Daniella’s life a bit easier by assisting in creating this outdoor living and play space that is conducive to Daniella being about to enjoy a bit more of life. Being able to see the blue of the sky will allow her to heal while building a strong and healthy immune system.
Hassan's dedicated team continues to grow and get organized as all are deeply committed to making this little girl’s dream come true. “We are doing what we can towards further research and solution based, sustainable development for the project.”
Ahmed, and his designer Duane Draughon of Viz X Design Studios, will be flying to Florida in early March to visit with Daniella, her parents Dania and Jose as well as big brother Daniel. After a plan is drafted and designed the team will return sometime in April to turn this vision into reality.
"We have nothing more than dreams and wishes. But because we believe and because we know so many of you also believe, this project will happen and you're about to show me just how fast.” - Ahmed Hassan
With your assistance, wishes really can come true! If you feel so inclined, please visit http://thoughtful.org/campaign/campaign/164#.VO3RSS4rLEJ
Thank you for supporting this unified dream and gift for Daniella. You can't stop the power of good!
